Features of e-Samrudha

The e-Samrudha Digital Platform has the following major functions and features to support the Veterinary services in the state.

Statewide Farmer Database, RFID enabled Animal Traceability and identification, Mobile app for farmers/owners, Online booking for OP consultation, Hospital Management, Clinical Services and e-Health Management, Electronic Veterinary Health records, Vaccination management, Breeding Management, Production management, SLBP scheme, Insurance management, Predication of diseases, Analytics-driven MIS Dashboards etc

RFID-based Animal Traceability

According to animal census, there are about 14 lakhs cattle in Kerala. A separate identification document is essential for each animal as part of various government schemes for livestock like health and disease management, breeding management, insurance, and animal transfer. Currently, the method of attaching plastic ear tags is used to identify the cattle and buffalo. But this method has several drawbacks. Not only does ear piercing have health related problems, including infection and the possibility of losing the physical tags, but it is also true that this traditional method is not effective in creating a comprehensive database of animals. As a permanent solution to this, a Digital solution with RFID-based animal tagging and traceability is developed. This new identification system is called Radio Frequency Identification, abbreviated as RFID. This microchip based tag is implanted into an animal, it lasts till the life of the animal without causing any side effects, but it also hlp us to build a highly robust and authentic database where all the information about each animal can be stored and being managed. As the pilot level implementation, 75000 animals (Cattles and buffalos) were tagged in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. The RFID tags will be replicated for the entire state of Kerala on the coming years.

Hospital Management

Hospital management is intended for the streamlining of the operations of the institution like OP management, Laboratory and diagnostics management, Radio diagnostics, Medicine stock and Inventory management, etc. The laboratory management and radio diagnostics management will enable the lab results to be digitally integrated with e-Samrudha platform from the Lab immediately on completion of the test and gets integrated with e-Veterinary Record. The pharmacy and medicine stock will be managed through e-stock management in real-time.

e-Veterinary Health Record

The entire treatment, vaccination, and entire health record of the animal is integrated with the e-samrudha platform. The doctors, insurance team, and field officers can access to the health record on demand. This will help the field veterinary team to access the animal health record to provide effective veterinary services

e-Stock Management and Pharmacy systems

Medicine stock management, sourcing, supply chain at each dispensary has become a major issue for the Veterinarians. The medicines are sourced through AH Department and LSGD procurements. Separate stock registers are maintained for Common Drugs, Patent Drugs, Disposables, of AH Department supply and LSG Supply and other sources. e-Samrudha will provide e-stock management for medicines across the state. The entire medicine stock management, vaccination management details will be captured through the system.

Insurance Management

Insurance is one of the key elements in Livestock management. It is proposed to have API-based seamless service integration of animal health records with insurance agencies and banks. With the unique ID of the farmer and animals, the farmers as well as the animals can be easily traceable. The App/UPI and digital payment integration will facilitate the farmers to pay the premium seamlessly and can be integrated with the e-Samrudha system. The entire insurance management process like premium payment, claim processing, reports submission and claim tracking etc can be done through the e-samrudha platform by the Veterinary doctors as well as farmers. The insurance claim processing will become very easy for the insurance providers as the entire veterinary health record of the animal is available to the insurance providers.

Breeding management

For Artificial Insemination Process, the farmer and animal identification can be done through the system (Both in clinic or in the field level). Based on the animal productivity analysis, the bull selection will also be facilitated using an AI-powered recommendation process by referring to the previous insemination history and productivity details. The proposed system will take less than 3 minutes as only the pathological condition if anything to be noted is required to be entered as well as date of AI and all others are automatically captured and filled in by the system.

Farmer Mobile APP

e-Samrudha has introduced a mobile app based veterinary service for the farmers/owners. The farmer can book the consultation service of their preferred doctors online and get the confirmation in advance. The details of treatment, medicine prescription, reports, vaccination certificate, health certificate etc active mediations etc is accessible through the mobile app

Production Data management

The productivity data of the Animal is highly important for livestock planning and effective breeding management. The production details and the relevant details are captured into the system by the farmers through a mobile app-based interface. Based on the data and other parameters of the Animal, the production can be predicted and the inferences will be generated.

Analytics Dashboard

The analytics-based dashboard will enable the officers to generate relevant progress reports of various kinds. The reports will be integrated across the state and the real-time MIS dashboard provides seamless report of levels. This will save considerable time for the Vet to attend to cases referred/presented to him/her. It will bring down the unnecessary work pressure on him so that he can concentrate on his clinical duties in a more productive manner. He/she will be mentally stress free leading to better time management and better quality of service.
